IC405
Flaming Star Nebula
The
Flaming Star Nebula is an emission and reflection nebula located about
1,500 light-years from Earth. Stretching about 5 light-years accross,
it appears on the right side of this image as a cascading flame. IC410,
the Tadpole Nebula, is visble at the bottom left, forming a bluish head
that seems to be bowing to the intensity of the flame. The tadpoles are
the light-yellow structures toward the top of IC410. North is
at the bottom.
